Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for appointment to the post of PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR, for the Integrating Water, Land and Ecosystems Management in Caribbean Small Island Developing States (IWECO) Project attached to the Department of Agriculture.

 

Description of Work

The Project Coordinator (PC) will manage the day-to-day activities of the project and is ultimately responsible for ensuring the achievement of the project outputs and outcomes including the production of all stipulated progress and financial reports. In addition, the PC is also expected to ensure that all project objectives are realized. The PC will report to the Project Director (Chief Forestry Officer) or his designate the Deputy Chief Forest Officer (DCFO).

 

Qualifications and experience

The PC should possess the following or equivalent experience:

  1. Master’s Degree in in Natural Resource or Environmental Management, related field of study or Project Management, plus three (3) years’ experience in working experience in environmental discipline or four (4) years’ working experience project management.
  2. Bachelor of Science  Degree plus Post Graduate Diploma in natural resource or environmental management  (8) years working experience in natural resource or environmental management or four (4) years’ experience in project management.
  3. Project management experience especially of GEF projects will be an asset.
  4. Good understanding of natural resource, watershed, sustainable land management, climate change, environment and development issues;
  5. Experience with design and implementation of environmental programmes;
  6. Good communication ( both oral and written) and management skills;
  7. Good understanding of rural development, working in rural and urban communities and ability to understand and speak creole.  
  8. Advanced computer literacy skills, with the ability to manipulate software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation programmes and management information systems.
